Crawdads Get Past Lake Erie for 1-0 Win
|
The Crawdads faced a stiff challenge from Lake Erie pitcher Frederick Jennings, but persevered to claim a win at Arryns Ballpark. The final score was 1-0. Jennings went 7 innings and allowed no runs. The winner in relief was Alonso Enríquez. He is now 5-2. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Cut Off is 59-37 and Lake Erie, with the loss, 64-32.
Cut Off used the timely hitting of Mike Coleman to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Crawdads on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We did just enough to win," Coleman said.
