Zoomies Curb Hounds, 2-0
|
In a low-scoring game between Shady Side and Hicksville, pitcher Leonard Hester was excellent. The Shady Side left-hander helped his team knock off the Hounds, 2-0. Hester, the winner, moves to 3-0. He threw 7 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 4 walks. The 8th-place Zoomies now have a win-loss record of 10-14.
Kelsey Tate, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he connected on a fastball from David Jordan for a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put Shady Side in front, 2-0.
"I feel honored to be a part of this team," said Tate.
