Hounds Get One-Run Win at Shady Side
|
The Hicksville Hounds beat the Shady Side Zoomies, 5-4, in part because of shortstop Ken Hooper. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. Hicksville reliever John Terry got the win, raising his record to 2-0. Dave Joseph was tagged with the loss. The save went to Dean Bradley, number 5 for him.
Hicksville used the clutch hitting of Keith Gallagher to snag the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Hounds ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Hooper said.
Hicksville is now 12-11, Shady Side 9-14.
