Hawks Handle Caterpillars, 3-2

The Laredo Hawks picked up a win at Hawks Field, knocking off the Grand Forks Caterpillars, 3-2. Starting pitcher Tim Moore played a key role in the triumph. After today's action, Laredo sits at 51-39; Grand Forks slips to 37-53.
With runs few and far between, the Hawks had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Laredo came in the bottom of the fourth inning, when shortstop Jude Thompson delivered a run-scoring single. The single was hit off Juan Martínez and made the score 2-1, Hawks. Thompson went 1 for 3.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Grand Forks manager Milton Mathews. "The effort was great."
