Hounds Lose Again, 2-1, to Sea Dogs
|
In a well-pitched game between the Maine Sea Dogs and the Hicksville Hounds, pitcher Junior Smith was superb. The Maine right-hander helped his team win, 2-1. Hicksville now has a 6-game losing streak.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Yu Wang was at the plate when Maine scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Sea Dogs to go in front, 1-0.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Hicksville manager Phil Carroll said following the tough loss.
