Caterpillars Handle Hawks, 3-1
|
Grand Forks and Laredo played a hard-fought contest.
The Grand Forks Caterpillars got a magnificent performance from pitcher Bryan Hill, who stifled the Laredo offense en route to a 3-1 Caterpillars win at Hawks Field. In 5.2 innings, Hill surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 6 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Picking up the save was Mikilana Lokela, his 4th.
Dean Slater had a critical at-bat with two out in the top of the seventh for Grand Forks. He came through with a 2-run single to put Grand Forks in front, 3-0.
"Sometimes a win comes easy," Slater told the Grand Forks Citizen. "And sometimes you have to scratch and claw."
Grand Forks currently is in 7th place in the Premier A at 37-52.
