Quebec City starter Reginald Helms had a strong outing against the Shady Side Zoomies at Dylan Park. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Shusui Ichihara, now 1-0, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. The Zoomies, now 7-12, continue their slow start.

Quebec City took a 5-3 lead on Dave Reid's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Shady Side pitcher Francisco Rodríguez in the bottom of the eighth.

"We'll savor this win," Reid told the Quebec City News, "then get ready for the next game."
