Late Rally by Sea Dogs Secures 6-3 Win
|
A 4-RBI performance from shortstop George Houston led the Maine Sea Dogs to a win over the Shady Side Zoomies, 6-3. Maine reliever Mike Nichols picked up the win to move to 4-0. Declan Iddon suffered the loss. With their winning streak at 5, the Sea Dogs have raced to a strong start this season.
The game ended with a bang. In the bottom of the ninth, with Maine trailing 3-2, Houston belted a knuckle curve from Declan Iddon for a grand slam home run, sending the Sea Dogs to a dramatic walk-off win.
"I believe in our guys," said Maine skipper Charles Wells. "I like the energy they're playing with."
