South Beach Gets 6-1 Win
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The South Beach Blaze beat the Laredo Hawks, 6-1, at Hawks Field. Starting pitcher Roy Roberts was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Roberts picked up the win for South Beach, going 5.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 5-2.
In the top of the first, Brian Palmer ambushed a full count fastball from Michael Wright and hit a 2-run home run. It gave South Beach a quick 2-0 lead.
Palmer told a South Beach Times reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
The second-place Blaze have won 4 straight.
