Thrilling Victory Pushes Blaze Win Streak to 9

The South Beach Blaze picked up a win at The Ballpark on the Beach, knocking off the Cut Off Crawdads, 3-2. Starting pitcher Eric Buchanan played a key role in the triumph. Buchanan went 8.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-0. South Beach has run its win streak to 9 in a row.
The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Esteban Mejía came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Cut Off pitcher Tai sun Huo, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting South Beach on top, 3-2.
"This is a very good team," said Buchanan. "We have the chance to do something special."
