Hobeaus Take Down River Rats, 3-2
|
With first baseman Víctor Rivas leading the charge, the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus defeated the Columbia River Rats, 3-2, at Smokies Stadium. Rivas, who is tied for 2nd in the PA in RBI with 45, was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The victory puts Smoky Mountain at 23-47.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Rivas hit a curveball from Rob Sawyer for a run-scoring double. The Hobeaus, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Getting the win feels nice," said Rivas. "More importantly, I had a good game."
