A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Ft. Worth Cattlemen and Toledo Stingers.
Ft. Worth Cattlemen starter Chase Davis pitched a strong game against the Toledo Stingers at Pacesetter Park, leading the Cattlemen to victory, 6-3. Davis got the win, improving to 2-2. He allowed 4 hits and walked 3 over 5 innings. Davis allowed 2 runs. Pat Martin collected save number 1.
Ft. Worth first baseman Juan Andrés Martí contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fourth. With two down, he hit a changeup into right field for a 2-run single. It was his 14th hit of the season and put the Cattlemen ahead, 5-2.
Davis attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The victory makes Ft. Worth 10-9.
