Taylor Leads Columbia Past Monroeville

The Columbia River Rats beat the Monroeville Yinzers, 3-1, at Columbia Stadium. Starting pitcher Glenn Taylor was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Rob Sawyer nailed down his 11th save. Columbia has now won 3 in a row.
Taylor made it look effortless. He scattered 4 hits over 7 innings, while racking up 11 strikeouts. The Columbia left-hander encountered little resistance from the Monroeville hitters. His season record is now 2-4.
"We didn't string enough hits together to win the game," said tight-lipped Monroeville manager Jorge Reyes. "Obviously."
