Hawks Win, 3-2, at South Beach
|
Laredo first baseman Esteban Reyes was a significant contributor in his team's 3-2 triumph over the South Beach Blaze. He went 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk for Laredo. Laredo reliever Rusty Russell picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Ketema El Hindi absorbed the loss. Jim Lee finished the game for Laredo and earned his 3rd save.
With Laredo leading 1-0 in the top of the second, Reyes hit a run-scoring single off South Beach hurler Ketema El Hindi. It was the 35th hit of the season for Reyes and put his team ahead, 2-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Laredo manager Oliver Burrell.
The Hawks sit in 4th place in the Premier A with a record of 26-16.
