Smoky Mountain picked up a win at Smokies Stadium, bumping off the Monroeville Yinzers, 3-2. Pitcher Reynaldo López was a major reason the Hobeaus emerged victorious. Francisco Rodríguez, credited with the win, is now 2-1. He allowed no runs on no hits. At 12-30, the Hobeaus are currently last in the Premier A.

Anastasio García found himself in a pressure situation in the bottom of the 12th. Facing Monroeville hurler Leonard Hester, the 21-year-old right fielder hit a run-scoring single. His 1st hit of the season put the Hobeaus on top, 3-2.

"What a buzz," said García after it was over.
