Victory Takes Blaze to 24-14
|
The South Beach Blaze and Columbia River Rats played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Starting pitcher Jerry Gordon had a solid game. He was a big reason the South Beach Blaze throttled the Columbia River Rats, 2-1. South Beach is second in the Premier A with a record of 24-14.
South Beach took a 2-1 lead on Orlando Rodríguez's 2nd home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Rodríguez hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Columbia pitcher Andrew Callahan shaking his head.
"We'll savor this win," Rodríguez told the South Beach Times, "then get ready for the next game."
