Arryns Stop Hawks, 4-3

The Lake Erie Arryns beat the Laredo Hawks, 4-3, at Arryns Ballpark. The win was due in part to designated hitter Richard Oliver, who went 1-2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Frederick Jennings, the winner, improved to 4-2. He held the Hawks to 3 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 3. The Arryns improved to 21-11.
Oliver contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Lake Erie in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Oliver took a sinker from Damon Colcott and stroked the home run to right-center. His 7th home run of the season allowed the Arryns to leap in front, 3-1.
After the game, Lake Erie manager Carlos Meléndez applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
