Seahawks Beat Yinzers, 4-1
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks went home winners at Seahwaks Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Kel Ellis. Ellis stifled the Monroeville Yinzers, enabling Myrtle Beach to grab the 4-1 win. Manuel Liscano got the save, the 5th for him this season. The 6th-place Seahawks now have a win-loss record of 15-16.
The Seahawks got a big at-bat from catcher José Pinto. For the game, Pinto was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Myrtle Beach a 2-0 lead.
Ellis expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
