The Laredo Hawks turned back the Myrtle Beach Seahawks, 7-6, at Hawks Field. Iván Vega, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. The winner was Éric Lemaire in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Manuel Liscano took the loss.

Pat Johnson was the walk-off hero for Laredo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hawks left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"This wasn't a good win," said Johnson. "It was a great win."

The third-place Hawks now have a win-loss record of 18-12.
