Shredders Stumble, Lose to Bullets
|
The Hollywood Shredders got a sterling performance from designated hitter Benno Luby, but the Baltimore Bullets still prevailed, 8-3. Luby was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Picking up the win was Gilbert Owen. He went 6 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The right--hander struck out 6 and walked 2. The win puts Baltimore at 8-8.
With no one out in the bottom of the fourth, Keith Atkins barreled up a fastball from Zosimo Pavlakakis. The result was a 3-run home run, putting the Bullets in front, 4-0.
Atkins told a Baltimore Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
