River Rats Fall to Arryns, 6-4
|
The Lake Erie Arryns beat the Columbia River Rats, 6-4, at Arryns Ballpark. The Arryns got a fine performance from first baseman Sidney Nuesink, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. Denny Schneider was called on to finish, recording his 1st save. Lake Erie, at 18-8, holds down second place in the Premier A.
Jon Rice, who is tied for 8th in the PA in RBI with 14, contributed to the Lake Erie win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"I play this game for myself and my family, but of course it's always nice when we can win," said Rice.
