Manatees Edge Grim in Pitching Duel
|
Getting an impressive start from Barry Cuda, Matlacha beat Grim by the score of 1-0. The 5th-place Manatees are 51-42.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Manatees had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the second, when catcher Sean Knight hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Mark Peterson and made the score 1-0, Manatees. Knight was 1-4.
"Not to put too fine a point on it," said Cuda, "but we really needed that win."
