Late Magic Gets Monroeville 3-1 Win
|
The Monroeville Yinzers took Lake Erie pitcher César Romero's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Arryns Ballpark. The final score had Monroeville getting past the Arryns, 3-1. Romero went 6.2 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 6. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Yinzers.
Monroeville used the clutch hitting of Andrej Boone to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Yinzers ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Boone told the Monroeville Daily News.
