Rodríguez, Manatees Get 3-2 Win
|
The Matlacha Manatees scored a tight 3-2 win versus the Kennesaw Jets at Jets Stadium. Matlacha pitcher Juan Rodríguez held his own in the contest. Victor Jones, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 25th save. Matlacha, at 48-41, occupies 6th place in the Silver A.
Rodríguez tossed 96 pitches over 7 innings to clinch the win for the Manatees. The right-hander allowed just 1 hit, while racking up 8 strikeouts in the game.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Matlacha manager Jorge Villanueva said.
