The Myrtle Beach Seahawks topped the Smoky Mountain Hobeaus, 5-2, in USPL Single A action at Seahwaks Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Myrtle Beach pitcher Kel Ellis. Paul Montgomery was credited with the save for Myrtle Beach, his 2nd of the season. Smoky Mountain has now lost 4 consecutive games.
In the bottom of the fourth, with Myrtle Beach leading 3-2, left fielder José Mondragon hit a run-scoring single. The hit came off Reynaldo López and put the Seahawks ahead, 4-2.
"The vibe's good," said Myrtle Beach manager Tom Oglander. "We've got to keep it going."
