The Delmarva Gallos got a sterling performance from pitcher José Peña, but the Matlacha Manatees still prevailed, 7-2. Peña threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball. Matlacha reliever Eric Wheaton picked up the win, upping his record to 6-2. Maurice Richards shouldered the loss. José Calderón recorded the save for Matlacha, his 2nd of the season.

Matlacha used the clutch hitting of Paul Wolfe to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Manatees ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Matlacha manager Jorge Villanueva.

The win makes Matlacha 46-39.
