Walla Walla Gets 3-1 Win
|
Walla Walla starter David Rubin put a stranglehold on the Kennesaw offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Walleye to a 3-1 win. Rubin picked up the win for Walla Walla, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 9-4. The Walleye now have a record of 46-31 with the win over Kennesaw.
Walla Walla used the timely hitting of Todd Harmon to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Walleye on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Let's just say I'm happy we won," said Rubin. "There are a lot of people in the clubhouse who like to whine too much when we lose."
