Oaks Prevail, 6-4, Over Toledo
|
The Oakland Oaks defeated the Toledo Stingers, 6-4, at The Oak Grove today. Leading the charge for Oakland was right fielder Lorenzo García. He was 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Kjeld Burger picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 1-1. Terry Lesage was called on to finish, recording his 5th save.
García contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing triple, for Oakland in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, García took a changeup from Bailey Telfer and stroked the triple to right-center. His 2nd triple of the season allowed the Oaks to leap in front, 6-4.
"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said García.
The loss drops Toledo to 7-5.
