Vandals Pull Off Thrilling 4-3 Win in Extras
Eugene beat Matlacha on the strength of starter Octávio Olivaies's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Max Schwarzacher earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 2-2. The Vandals now have a record of 21-50.

Luis Tañón made it 4-3 in favor of Eugene when he delivered a run-scoring single. It came with two out in the top of the 12th. The Vandals went on to win.

"I know we have our doubters," said Matlacha manager Jorge Villanueva. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
