Caterpillars Beat Arryns, 6-1
|
Spirited fans greeted the Lake Erie Arryns for their clash with the Grand Forks Caterpillars.
The Lake Erie Arryns got a superb performance from pitcher Li Knight, but the Grand Forks Caterpillars still won the game, 6-1. Knight threw 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball. Mikilana Lokela came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. His record now stands at 1-0.
Grand Forks used the timely hitting of Dean Slater to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Caterpillars on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll enjoy this win for now, but it's just one," Slater told local reporters. "We've got to keep it going."
With the win, Grand Forks lifts its record to 1-5.
