The Matlacha Manatees picked up a win at The Shell, knocking off the Huntington Hermit Crabs, 2-0. Starting pitcher Brian Payne was a big reason why. With the win, Matlacha pushed its record to 31-24.
Huntington could barely put a dent in Payne. The right-hander tossed 106 pitches over 8 innings for the Manatees, allowing only 2 hits.
"Brian is tough when he's hitting his spots," said Matlacha manager Jorge Villanueva.
