Eugene Vandals starter Eric Shank was in a groove as he led his team to a win over the Put-In-Bay Commodores, 6-4. Shank picked up the win for Eugene, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 3-1. Earning his 10th save of the year was Chris Evans.

Eugene took a 5-1 lead on Bill Walton's 6th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Walton hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Put-In-Bay pitcher Mike Schmitt shaking his head.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Walton told the Eugene Daily.
