Michizane Honda pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Levittown Blue Dragons, despite Honda's fine outing, dropped a 2-0 decision to the Eugene Vandals at The Cave at Levittown. Eric Shank, the winner, improved to 2-1. He held the Blue Dragons to no runs on 4 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 4. The save went to Chris Evans, number 9 for him.

Carlos García, the 21-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. García contributed a 2-run single in the top of the first inning to put Eugene up, 2-0.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," García said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The victory makes Eugene 12-34.
