Reapers Collect 4-2 Win Over Airmen
|
Alameda Field was the site of a competitive game between the Alameda Airmen and Grim Reapers.
Grim Reapers starter Ed Moore pitched his team past the Alameda Airmen, 4-2. Steve Cooley picked up the win in relief for Grim, while Edwin Albracht took the loss.
Grim got the win thanks to a clutch hit from Rickey Monroe. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 19th inning to put the Reapers ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it had a major impact on the outcome.
"Our team showed some gumption," said Moore. "I like it."
Grim is now 20-15.
