Matlacha Beats Levittown, 5-3
|
The Matlacha Manatees racked up a win at The Cave at Levittown, bumping off the Levittown Blue Dragons, 5-3. Michael Ross, who started for Matlacha, pitched effectively for his team. Picking up the save was Victor Jones, his 9th. With the win, the Manatees improved to 18-17.
Matlacha took the lead in the top of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Gary Blackburn stroked a 2-run single to make it 5-3, Manatees.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Blackburn told the Matlacha News.
