Extra-Inning Win by Jets Over Hermit Crabs
|
The Kennesaw Jets took Huntington pitcher Brian Hill's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Jets Stadium. The final score had Kennesaw getting past the Hermit Crabs, 4-3. Hill went 6.1 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 7. Juan Vera notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. His record now sits at 1-1. Kennesaw, with the win, sits at 4-26.
The Jets relied on catcher Chris Finley for the game-winning hit. And, in the bottom of the 11th, he delivered, hitting a run-scoring single to seal the deal.
Huntington manager Rodrige Margalha said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
