Commodores Earn 2-1 Win Versus Vandals
Put-In-Bay Commodores starter Esam bin Ahmad pitched a strong game against the Eugene Vandals at Put-In-Bay Ballpark, leading the Commodores to victory, 2-1. The 8th-place Commodores improved to 10-13.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter António Gutiérrez came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Eugene pitcher Max Schwarzacher, he hit a 3-1 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Put-In-Bay on top, 2-1.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said bin Ahmad.
