The Huntington Hermit Crabs got a good effort from starter Mario Hernández in defeating the Grim Reapers at The Coffin. The final score was 2-1. The winning pitcher was Hernández, now 4-0. He tossed 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 7. Marshall Dooley was credited with the save for Huntington, his 5th of the season.
Huntington relied on the hitting of Jason Whittier to pick up the win. The first baseman ripped a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hermit Crabs on top, 2-0. For the game, Whittier had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"It was a tough night at the plate," said Grim manager Terrence Eler.
