Grim had no answer for Matlacha Manatees starter Brian Payne, who flummoxed Reapers hitters as the Manatees cruised to victory, 6-1. Matlacha, at 11-10, holds down 6th place in the Silver A.

Jorge Rodríguez, not known for his power, had a big at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he connected on a curveball from Alfonso Escamilla for a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season put Matlacha in front, 3-1.

"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Payne said.
