The Matlacha Manatees topped the Alameda Airmen, 2-1, in USSL Single A action at Alameda Field. The standout performance belonged to Matlacha pitcher and Sheffield, Ohio, native Silas Brown. Matlacha sits at 9-9.

Matlacha used the timely hitting of Cliff Baldwin to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Manatees on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.

"Being able to play a game for a living is one thing. Being able to play it well and contribute to a win is even better," Brown told the Matlacha News.
