The Matlacha Manatees took Eugene pitcher Curt Whitley's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Riot Zone. The final score had Matlacha getting past the Vandals, 4-1. Whitley went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 6. The win leaves Matlacha with a record of 6-0.

Matlacha used the timely hitting of Paul Wolfe to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Manatees on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I like how we're playing right now," said Wolfe.
