Matlacha Gets 7-4 Win
Getting a good performance from second baseman Gary Blackburn, the Matlacha Manatees defeated the Eugene Vandals, 7-4. Blackburn was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times for the Manatees. Matlacha reliever Tony Rodríguez picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Josh Barnette was tagged with the loss. The win has Matlacha at 4-0.

Matlacha used the timely hitting of Paul Wolfe to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Manatees on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"The vibe's good," said Matlacha manager Jorge Villanueva. "We've got to keep it going."
