Expos Suffer 9-3 Setback
|
The Mancelona Torch topped the Niagara Falls Expos, 9-3, in M3L Single A action at Waterfall Park. The standout performance belonged to Mancelona pitcher and Taylorsville, Utah, native John Bunch. At 36-57, the Torch find themselves in 10th place in the Menard's A.
Mancelona used a timely hit from José Colón to get the win. The right fielder stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Torch ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said Bunch.
