Washington Generals starter Lou Wright turned in an exceptional performance against the Niagara Falls Expos at Washington Park, resulting in a Washington win, 5-2. Bill Joseph was credited with the save for Washington, his 16th of the season. After today's action, Washington sits at 35-54, while Niagara Falls falls to 35-54.
Early in the game, center fielder Travis Benson had a run-scoring double for Washington. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Generals on top, 1-0.
"I thought we played a nice game," Benson told the Washington Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
