Godfathers Cut Down Bush Pilots, 5-4
|
The Pontiac Godfathers picked up a win at Bush Pilots Park, taking down the Alaskan Bush Pilots, 5-4. Starting pitcher Eric Morris was a big reason why. Morris, now 4-7, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. Pontiac now has a 3-game win streak.
Pontiac used the clutch hitting of William Collins to snag the win. The catcher drilled a grand slam home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Godfathers ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Collins told the Pontiac Citizen.
