Rivas Goes Deep Twice in 6-3 Manatees Win
|
Good production from right fielder Miguel Rivas helped the Matlacha Manatees topple the Kennesaw Jets, 6-3. Rivas went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Manatees. Matlacha goes to 2-0.
Rivas contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Matlacha in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 2-0, Rivas took a splitter from Álex López and stroked the home run to right-center. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Manatees to leap in front, 3-2.
"We played hard and won," said Rivas. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
