The Yucca Valley Yellows downed the Pontiac Godfathers, 6-1, at Pontiac Copperdome. Richard Tanner led the way, going 1-for-5 for Yucca Valley. The Yellows now have a record of 52-25 with the win over Pontiac.

The Yellows got an important contribution from first baseman Tim Thomas, who in the top of the first punched a 2-0 fastball into center for a run-scoring double. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Yellows ahead, 2-0.

"This was a good win for us," said Thomas. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
