Vibes Top Chukars, 1-0
|
Felipe Hull could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Idaho Falls Chukars lost, dropping a 1-0 decision to the Rocky Mountain Vibes at Bellevue Field. The save was credited to Jussi-Pekka Hostikka, his 2nd. After today's action, Rocky Mountain sits at 34-37; Idaho Falls slips to 46-25.
Kewini Ahipene drove in one run for Rocky Mountain. The 18-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With one out and a runner on 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Felipe Hull. It was his 6th RBI of the season.
Afterward, Vibes manager John Simpson was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
