The Eugene Vandals went down to defeat to Ray Spencer and his Levittown teammates. The final score was 4-2 in favor of the Blue Dragons. The loss makes Eugene 0-2.
A critical at-bat came in the top of the seventh inning when the Blue Dragons sent 20-year-old designated hitter Henry Webb to the plate with the bases loaded. The youngster shook off the pressure and drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to put Levittown on top, 3-1.
After the game, Levittown manager Sal Haynes applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
