Yellows Deal Godfathers 4-3 Loss
The Yucca Valley Yellows had to overcome a fine effort from Pontiac pitcher Justin Blake to grab a narrow 4-3 win at Pontiac Copperdome. Blake went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Ed Taylor, now 5-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 4 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. The Yellows improved to a lofty 38-14.

Yucca Valley used the clutch hitting of Mal James to snag the win. The catcher drilled a solo home run in the top of the 15th inning to put the Yellows ahead, 4-3. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

James called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
